Multan: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has decided the raise WASA billing rates ten times after the Punjab government informed the agency that it will no longer provide a monthly subsidy to it, a news source reported. The decision will be confirmed during the next meeting of Housing and Town Planning department.
The Punjab government had informed the agency that it will not provide monthly subsidy previously provided to WASA in Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi. WASA has been directed to increase its revenue resources.
According to the report, after the increase in billing rates, WASA will be able to execute its developmental and non-development projects without any subsidy from Punjab Government.
