Rawalpindi: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has requested PKR 614 million from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for the transfer and relocation of tube wells, water supply lines, and sewage lines in the city, according to news reports on Thursday (December 09). The lines will be relocated from the Nullah Leh prior to the construction of the Nullah Leh Expressway and flood channel.

as per the sources, WASA has requested PKR 250 million for the relocation of water supply lines and tube wells, and PKR 364 million for the relocation of the sewerage system along Leh Nullah. WASA Managing Director Raja Shaukat Mehmood stated that the authority will locate new areas for the construction of tube wells before the PKR 25 billion Leh Expressway project is started. The decision to request funding was taken after RDA sought relocation estimates from civic agencies such as WASA, Rawalpindi and Chaklala military lands and cantonments boards.

According to the RDA, the expected costs following review will be included in the amended Project Concept-1 (PC-1) of the Leh Expressway.
