Various UCs and main roads in the city still have dilapidated and old sewerage lines that sorely need up-gradation and repair. The stalled repair work causes populated areas to get submerged in rainwater within only a few hours of rain. The department was lacking the resources to rehabilitate the city sanitation system for many years, however, the chairman of the Gujranwala Development Authority has assured that this repair work will begin soon.
