Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director-General (DG) Muhammad Suhail Khawaja has directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials to ensure the provision of continuous water supply and waste disposal services throughout the city amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, a news source reported.

As per reports, the DG on Tuesday chaired a meeting at WASA’s head office. Other senior officials of WASA included Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Jabbar Anwar, Directors Sheharyar, Johnson Haroon Gill, Haroon Raza. FDA Deputy Director Administration Yasir Ijaz Chatta also attended the meeting.

Khawaja emphasised that the usage of drinkable water had increased due to the lockdown and directed the concerned officials that an acceptable and appropriate schedule should be set up to fulfil the needs of the public. He further instructed the complaint cell to remain functional round-the-clock and complaints, regarding water supply, to be immediately dealt with. He also asked the concerned officials to ensure manholes were covered and choked sewerage lines were opened.
