Faisalabad: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has said that the construction work on the second phase of a water supply project for the city will commence on a timely basis, a news source reported. It has further stated that the water scheme will be completed in collaboration with the French government at a cost of PKR 14 billion.

To this effect, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) director general on Monday visited the project site and said that clean water would be supplied to the entire city. He inspected various portions of the phase-I during his visit and lauded the work done on the supply lines. He also directed WASA officials to complete the formal matters pertaining to the phase-II of the project and ensure early commencement of work on the said project.

In response, WASA Managing Director (MD) Faqir Muhammad Chaudhry informed about the successful completion of the phase-I of the water supply project and detailed the progress work on phase-II of the project. Other senior officials of WASA were also present on the occasion.

He said that the completion of the water supply project’s second phase would increase the daily supply of clean water up to 110 million gallons.
