Lahore: Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht has asked the departments concerned to submit their budget estimations for the upcoming fiscal year (FY2019-20), a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting of the ministerial committee of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was also present at the occasion.
WASA Managing Director (MD) Syed Zahid Azi gave briefings on the agency’s revenue and expenditure gap, the status of subsidies and future business plans.
In response, the minister directed the officials concerned to come up with workable financial planning for WASA under the new proposed Local Government system. He said the decision to make WASA an independent organisation would be taken after its performance review.

The finance minister also stressed the need to launch water storage and recycling projects on a priority basis, besides installing water metres in all cities of the province.
