Rawalpindi: In legal proceedings against defaulters, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) special magistrate has fined 215 defaulters, reported a news source. An amount worth PKR 1,950,745 was collected on-spot from the defaulters.
Special Magistrate Amir Ashfaq said that the defaulters will get no concession as they haven’t been paying their water bills for the last two years. Ashfaq also revealed that the water connections of these penalised people are also illegal. He also mentioned that those regularising their illegal water connections voluntarily will get certain exemptions in the fines.
The crackdown against WASA defaulters has been properly launched, and will continue through Ramazan and even during Eid holidays.
