Rawalpindi: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), in collaboration with Bahria Town, is working on completing the desilting/dredging of Nullah Lai, according to news sources. In this regard, WASA has already completed the desilting process from Katarian to Gawalmandi bridge by utilizing a grant from the Punjab government.

This information was revealed by WASA Managing Director Raja Shaukat Mahmood during a meeting chaired by the city commissioner. The officials of Bahria Town, the Defense Housing Authority, and WASA were also in attendance.
During the session, the Rawalpindi Commissioner stated that Bahria Town had offered its help on completing the said project on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. As a result, a Bahria Town team will be helping WASA to desilt the Nullah Lai using various types of machinery, including two graders, eight excavators, eight long boom draglines and 32 dumper trucks. The commissioner expressed his gratitude to the real estate company for its contributions.

Additionally, the WASA Managing Director took the opportunity to disclose that the agency had already finished executing a monsoon plan for the year, and that it would be making all the necessary arrangements to avoid any emergencies during the upcoming rainy season.
