Multan: Water and Sanitation Agency has decided to recover PKR 550 million this year in a bid to end its financial crunch – a news source reported.

For this purpose, a collection of PKR 45 million will be made each month and an additional PKR 10 million will be recovered separately. The departments that fail to make the required recovery will have to face administrative action.
The recovery staff can face issues and backlash of the public where issues of sewerage or sanitation exist when the go to make recoveries.

WASA has been facing a financial crunch in several cities of Punjab because the billing rates are old and recoveries have been difficult in the past. The agencies have been looking into ways to increase their recovery and sources of income so they could implement their development projects accordingly.
