An online meeting took place between WASA Lahore and Chief Minister Secretariat, with special participation from Pakistani Ambassador Shoaib Sarwar. During the meeting, WASA MD Ghafran Ahmed provided a briefing on the Kattar Band Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant is set to be established in the Kattar Band area and is expected to benefit over 250,000 people.
The main purpose of the Kattar Band Wastewater Treatment Plant is to purify the wastewater from Jinnah Hospital to Thokar and make it suitable for agricultural use. Approximately one million gallons of water will be cleaned and added to the Lahore Branch Canal daily through the plant.

WASA MD informed the meeting that both RUDA (Ravi Urban Development Authority) and Punjab Irrigation Department have granted NOCs (No Objection Certificates) to WASA Lahore for this project. The feasibility of the Kattar Band Wastewater Treatment Plant has been completed, and progress has begun for land acquisition. The project’s PC-1 (Planning Commission Form-1) is currently under review by WASA. The treatment plant will be developed in collaboration with Danish agencies.
