Mansehra: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has sped up the process of transferring the amount of PKR 3.5 million to 2,300 families affected by the Dasu Hydropower Project in the Upper Kohistan district, according to news published in the leading newspaper on January 1.

The news source mentioned that the WAPDA has approved PKR 10 billion under the Enhanced Self-Managed Relocation Package. Dasu Hydropower Project General Manager Anwarul Haq revealed that the authority has already transferred the amount of PKR 4 billion to the deputy commissioner’s account to be distributed among the affectees.

He went on to say that the work on the 4,320-megawatt Dasu Hydropower Project is underway and the demands of the affectees were settled for the timely completion of the energy project. The general manager stated that the compensation to the affectees is expected to be completed by March 30 as more than 1547 cases are taken care of. Out of which, 829 families were given PKR 350
