Lahore: The Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) has achieved a significant milestone in the Walton Road Upgrade Project by successfully diverting the old ADA Nullah into a newly constructed channel and ensuring the operation of a new disposal station, as reported on August 6.

As per details, this critical development addresses long-standing sewerage issues along Walton Road and sets the stage for a modern sewerage system capable of serving up to 1 million residents in the vicinity. The old ADA Nullah had been a major source of sewerage problems in the area. With this latest advancement, CBD Punjab has paved the way for a contemporary sewerage solution, which will greatly improve sanitation and infrastructure along Walton Road. Key figures, including CBD Punjab’s CEO Imran Amin, COO Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique, Executive Director Technical Riaz Hussain, Director Project Management Asif Iqbal, and Director Construction Asif Babar, along with other PML-N members and officials from NLC Walton Cantonment Board and NESPAK, gathered to celebrate this achievement. During a site visit, CEO Imran Amin and Khawaja Saad Rafique reviewed the project’s progress. Imran Amin emphasized the importance of overcoming the ADA Nullah challenge, stating, “Our commitment to public service has enabled us to overcome a major obstacle and deliver a modern sewerage solution for Walton Road.”

Khawaja Saad Rafique commended CBD Punjab for its dedication and highlighted the project’s positive impact on the community. Executive Director Technical Riaz Hussain provided a detailed overview of the new sewerage system, noting its capability to meet the future needs of the area. The Walton Road Upgrade Project, with an estimated cost of PKR 9 billion, aims to alleviate traffic congestion and resolve enduring sewerage issues, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for both residents and businesses in the region.
