Lahore: The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), on the order of the Chief Minister Punjab, has completed the verification of records of more than 700,000 farmers in Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan, according to a news report.
The PLRA Director General Capt. Zafar Iqbal stated that the purpose of verification is to make the process of wheat-buying transparent. Other details about land and landowners have also been verified through land records. Punjab has a total of around 1.4 million farmers and almost half of them belong to Southern Punjab.
