Gwadar: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood has said that Uzbekistan has acquired 25-acre land in Gwadar which will promote trade and bilateral connectivity, news sources reported.

According to the advisor, Uzbekistan and other central Asian countries want to get access to the sea for the establishment of trade channels, and Pakistan is an excellent country to assist them in increasing regional connectivity. Furthermore, he stated that Pakistan and Uzbekistan would establish a bilateral trade agreement, which will increase Pakistan’s external trade.
In regards to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to Uzbekistan, the advisor stated that both countries have inked a number of commercial agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

He stated that the region has to build connectivity in the same way that Europe has. The Advisor, while addressing the meeting held at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), said that there is going to be a trade exhibition in Tashkent that Pakistani industrialists and the business community should attend. Mr Dawood was of the opion that Pakistan should establish itself as a manufacturing hub, instead of being an importer of goods.
