Lahore: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) to use the land dedicated for Hindu temples and gurdawaras for welfare work, a news source reported. He instructed the authorities concerned to engage representatives of both communities for the purpose.
After the ETPB compiles recommendations on the use of land, the proceeds from such usage will then be allocated for the benefit of Hindu and Sikh communities across the country. It will also be used to provide better facilities to pilgrims from both communities visiting Pakistan.

Following partition, the responsibility of managing 109,369 acres of land dedicated to temples and gurdawaras, along with 15,849 properties, fell to the ETPB.
Specifically, the authorities will consult members of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Hindu community MPAs, and other representative organisations of the two communities for the purpose.
