Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on Information & Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan recently stated that the country’s housing sector had the potential to attract an investment of USD 10 billion within the next 10 years, according to a news source.

Addressing media persons following the inauguration of the Smart Expo of Future Development Holdings, she said that the housing sector would create a significant number of job opportunities and boost the national economy within the next decade.
Awan lauded the management of Capital Smart City (CSC) – an initiative of the Future Development Holdings – for launching the housing project. She added that the project would help generate 100,000 jobs for people and that PM Imran Khan had a firm commitment towards providing housing to the homeless.
Awan mentioned that both houses of the Parliament had passed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) Bill – aimed at materialising the PM’s vision to provide shelters to low-income individuals at an affordable price. She added that the housing sector would support and enhance 40 allied industries as well.

CSC Islamabad held a two-day expo at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre over the last weekend. CSC General Manager (Sales & Marketing) Mujeeb Ahmed Khan said that the event promoted the idea of smart home construction, and provided a platform for national and international housing companies and investors to expand their clientele.
