Islamabad: According to news sources, the Chairman of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has launched the initiative’s pilot automation project in the federal capital. In the first phase, all the prominent stores and warehouses in the city will be linked to the new, digitized automation network. The remaining stores in the country will be linked to the network within a year.

This digital system will aid the stores’ demand-supply management flow and help prevent accidents. It will also become the first online data centre of its kind, enabling headquarters to directly control and monitor all the stores operational within the country. All the daily transactions occurring in the national utility store outlets will also be recorded in this digital network.

During the inaugural event, the USC Chairman Zulqarnain Ali Khan applauded the efforts of the workers, administration and the information technology department. He said this automated data centre is designed to acutely match corporation’s capacity and is the first independent digital infrastructure to be installed in a public institution. The chairman was hopeful for the operational performance of USC to improve with the successful installation of the said automation project.
