The programme will benefit 70,000 individuals in Tank (KP) and Umerkot (Sindh). According to a tweet from UNOPS-Pakistan, the initiative would minimize water-borne infections by using a unique approach to increasing access to water and sanitation services in health clinics, schools, and marginalized areas of the Tank and Umerkot districts.
On the occasion, USAID Mission Director David Young said that the initiative is being launched to celebrate the 75th year of Pak-USA friendship. He also said that the USAID has helped Pakistan achieve sustainable people-oriented goals, built dams and schools, responded to humanitarian emergencies caused by floods and earthquakes, provided vaccines to people in need, and furnished tools and training to help Pakistan’s development.
