Islamabad: The United States grants USD 445.6mn to Pakistan under a new five-year bilateral agreement ‘Development Objectives Assistance Agreement’ (DOAA), according to news published on June 8.

As per the details, the agreement was formally signed by Economic Affairs Division Secretary Kazim Niaz and USAID Mission Director in Pakistan Reed Aeschliman. This agreement aims to significantly contribute to the socio-economic advancement of Pakistan by focusing on key areas such as fostering climate-resilient economic growth, promoting inclusive and accountable democratic governance, and improving the overall health and education of the population.
The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and visiting USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman. In a statement released by the Economic Affairs Division, it was mentioned that this agreement was the result of an extensive consultative process involving various federal and provincial departments.

The aim of this partnership is to effectively utilize the granted funds to uplift the socio-economic conditions of Pakistan. The grant of USD 445.6 mn from the US will play a pivotal role in driving positive change and promoting development in the country.
