Karachi: The Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqui stressed the importance of planting trees across the city to curb problems of global warming, according to a news report. Faruqui said this during a meeting held at his office while giving a review on the tree plantation drive.
He stressed that the metropolis needs international-level urban forestry which can make the city greener. He directed the deputy commissioners to initiate this process and decided that district-wise committees should be formed to supervise these campaigns. He also urged schools to take part in this plantation drive.
