Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved four uplift projects worth over PKR 806 million, a news source reported. The civic body additionally referred two projects worth PKR 7.4 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further approval.

The projects presented for approval included those in relation to health, housing sector, water resources, and physical planning. The Water Resource Division presented the Kachhi Canal Project before the meeting chaired by the Planning & Development Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar. Their other approved project is titled ‘Review of the feasibility study & detailed design of Burj Aziz Khan Dam Project, Pishin Lora’.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Health Services presented four projects. All of these are related to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The projects include up-gradation of existing facilities in PIMS, construction of female doctor hostel, procurement of MRI equipment for the Radiology Department, and extension of the Intensive Care Department of the mother & child healthcare centre.

The CDWP referred the physical planning and housing sector projects to ECNEC. These included construction of four sewerage treatment plants, and related sewerage system to treat the wastewater emptying into Korang River, Rawal Lake.
