Taxila: Member National Assembly (MNA) from Taxila retired Major Tahir Sadiq on Saturday (September 18) stated that the government will spend PKR 11.74 billion to complete 1174 development initiatives around the district, news sources reported.

Mr Sadiq stated that the emphasis is on the creation of projects that would ultimately benefit and ease the lives of ordinary people. Education, health, road maintenance, educational institution upgrading, and other public and welfare initiatives are among the proposed development projects. He was presiding over a meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office to review the progress of different development projects. Members of the provincial assembly and government administration were present during the meeting. Officials from several departments briefed the audience on the initiatives that are currently underway in their respective departments.

MNA Tahir stated that the suggested plans should focus on completing projects on schedule, with the greatest quality of work, and with budgetary discipline.
He also stated that the government is committed to providing basic facilities to people at the village level and that the implementation of these programmes is part of the initiative.
