Faisalabad: The Federal Development Authority (FDA) has announced its plans to initiate an up-gradation project in the city; aimed at redesigning and improving its various roads and intersections, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) is working under the administrative supervision of the FDA to conduct the redesign project. For this purpose, TEPA is currently conducting a survey to revamp the traffic management and roads in the city.

FDA Director-General (DG) Muhammad Suhail Khawaja chaired a meeting in this regard and reviewed TEPA’s recent affairs. Other senior officials including Additional Director-General (ADG) Amer Aziz, Director TEPA Muhammad Shahid Gill, Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood, and Deputy Director Administration Yasir Ijaz Chatta were also present on the occasion.

The meeting was informed that initially five city roads had been chosen to be redesigned as part of the project, including Kaleem Shaeed Road, Jail Road, Bilal Road, Agriculture University Road, and the Mall. These roads will be redesigned using advanced traffic engineering technology, which includes road signs, traffic signals, patchwork, colouring, repairing, and developing pedestrian ways and road crossings, among others things.
