Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the construction work on the Shahdara flyover project is almost complete and it will soon be open to traffic, according to news reported on November 14.

DG Randhawa made these remarks during a visit to the Shahdara flyover project on Monday. He instructed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore to expedite horticulture works. The director general emphasised that the opening of the Shahdara flyover project, in line with the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, is imminent. This development is expected to address the persistent traffic issues at the city’s main entrance and exit.

During the visit, LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, the contractor, and the project director provided the DG with a detailed briefing on the project’s progress. It was conveyed that finishing work on both bridges of the Shahdara flyover is underway around the clock, with the completion of asphalt work on the ramps of Flyover II scheduled for the same day. Additionally, ongoing activities include the installation of electric poles, and lane marking work is set to commence within the next 24 hours.
