As per the information available, the SNGPL Board of Directors reviewed the case in great detail and decided to take this measure following the advice of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. They ordered the management to arrange physical cross-checks of actual delivery pressure, and identify where the current site pressure was less than the billing pressure.
SNGPL officials revealed that fluctuating gas pressure was due to various technical parameters, which also include seasonal impact and the supply and demand situation. To deal with this problem, the company has decided to refund PKR 513 million. The officials added that they had already refunded about PKR 50 million in February/March 2019, and would now refund an additional PKR 463 million.
IN addition, the SNGPL also plans to continue with the exercise of physical cross-checking and the subsequent adjustment of amount.

In March 2019, a departmental investigation had revealed that about 30% of consumers had been charged the extra amount, which is why the PM directed SNGPL to refund the excess money charged to consumers as soon as possible.
