Hunza: An under-construction bridge in Hunza collapsed on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. The bridge was being built to connect various areas of Hunza with Karakoram Highway. It was proposed to be 260 metres long and was estimated to cost Rs 71 million.
Public Works Department Executive Engineer Mr Abdul Karim Khan told a news agency that the bridge collapsed
after three support beams broke, but fortunately no one was hurt. He said further that a committee had been formed to investigate the collapse.
