Rawalpindi: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has ordered residents of at least 14 Union Councils (UCs) in the city to submit their property taxes, a news source reported.

These 14 UCs are Dhamial, Morgah, Adiala Road, Gulraiz, High Court Road, Kuri Road, Shakrial, UC-118, UC-88, UC-87, UC-85, UC-84, UC-82, and UC-74.
The E&T Department has asked these individuals to clear their dues within a month’s timeframe. In case of non-compliance, the defaulters will have to pay one percent in addition to their dues as a compensation amount.

It is pertinent to mention that the property tax dues of these 14 UCs, pending since five years, have exceeded PKR 1 billion. The department previously notified 20,000 defaulters to clear their property dues.
