Skardu: Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) on Tourism and Sports Aun Chaudhry shared that the federal government is in talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to start direct flights to Skardu, according to news published on May 2.

As per the details, a 25-member delegation led by Chaudhry attended the Arabian Travel Market 2023 in Dubai. He highlighted that direct flights between Skardu and UAE will promote tourism in the northern areas. Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed to take steps in collaboration with the private sector to increase tourism in the country.
Pakistan holds immense potential to strengthen its tourism industry and the government must facilitate travellers to explore attractive destinations in areas like Skardu, said Chaudhry.

It was mentioned that the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and others has set up a pavilion at Arabian Travel Market 2023. The Ambassador of Pakistan in UAE mentioned that Pakistan’s participation in the event is a significant step to promote tourism and enhance the country’s soft image globally.
