Gujranwala: The Governing Body of the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) has approved two years’ budget worth PKR 1.89 billion for the civic agency, a news source reported. The 54th meeting of the GDA Governing Body was the first one in two years and it approved 2018-19 and 2019-20 budget for the authority.

Other matters on the agenda included means to increase the inflow for the authority and the governing body approved plans for the construction of commercial plazas and shops to increase revenue.
According to details, a plaza will be constructed on two kanals of land near Trust Plaza on GT Road, while the shops will be constructed near the General Bus Stand. More plazas have also been approved for Model Town.
The governing body also approved the NOC fee for land subdivisions and private housing schemes at PKR 30,000.

Finally a land dispute between GDA and Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) was also resolved under which in which exchange for 4 kanals of land, GEPCO will pay PKR 83.3 million.
