Lahore: The Punjab Cabinet has provided its approval to the establishment of two new national park attractions in the province and intends to notify its decision soon, a news source reported. The facilities are expected to be set up near Fateh Jang and Kharian.

According to details, nearly 8,740 acres of land will be dedicated in Khairi Mort near Fateh Jang for one park, while 38,874 acres will be dedicated for the second park in Pubi area near Kharian. The cabinet has also approved the expansion of Lal Suhanra National Park.
The areas where the two parks are set to be established were previously protected by two community-based organisations (CBOs). The parks will be developed on forest department’s land the funds will be used by wildlife department.

There are currently four other national park attractions in the province: Lal Suhanra National Park, Changi National Park, Murree Kahuta, Kotli Satyan National Park and Kalachta National Park.
