Multan: Multan Development Authority (MDA) has begun the work of expanding the Kalma Chowk-Nawan Shehar road and two months have been set as the deadline for the completion of the task, a news source reported.
The authority had stopped the work about three years ago due to various reasons and now it has begun again. MDA issued the notification for this purpose.

The road will be widened 15 feet each on both sides. The plans for the expansion will affect Custom Office, RTO Office, Irrigation Department Colony, and WASA’s water filtration plant among other shops and petrol pumps on the road. The acquisition of land has begun for this purpose.
After the acquisition has been completed, the machinery will be brought onto the road to begin the work of expanding the road.
Land will be purchased at a cost ranging between PKR 2.5 million and PKR 3.6 million per marla and a total of PKR 260 million is expected to be spent on the project.
