Islamabad: Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan Dr Mehmet Pacaci has said that Turkiye is eager to pursue an annual trade volume of USD 5 billion with Pakistan in the next few years, news sources reported on November 21.

He stated that the existing trade potential between the two countries does not accurately reflect the trade potential of both countries. He mentioned this while speaking to the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). Turkiye, he added, wishes to expand its collaboration with Pakistan in commerce, industry, investment, education, health, and other areas.

ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari stated that Turkiye can invest in a variety of sectors in Pakistan, including engineering, chemicals, housing and construction, electrical appliances, machinery, defence, defence, irrigation, food processing, halal meat, agricultural productivity, and solar energy.
He also mentioned impending Pakistan’s first International Housing Expo, which would take place from December 8 to 11, 2022, and asked Turkiye investors to actively participate in this huge event and promote their projects in Pakistan.

It is vital to note that Pakistan and Turkey have friendly relations, and their current trade volume is USD 1.2 billion per year, consisting primarily of smaller items and defence supplies.
