Peshawar: A meeting, held under Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Communication and Works Muhammad Riaz, on Friday revealed that a 1.45 km long tunnel will be constructed on Buner Expressway in Ambela to Shebaz Garhi section, according to media reports.

Reportedly, the said meeting was held to review the feasibility report of the 35.2 km Buner Expressway, which was attended by KP-Highways Authority MD Amir Nadeem Durrani, Provincial Highways Project Director Barakat Shah, and other officials.
During the meeting, it was mentioned that Ambela to Shebaz Garhi is the feasible route for the Buner expressway, which will cost PKR 21 billion to complete.

Mr Muhammad Riaz reported that the travelling time will be reduced by 20 minutes through this expressway, and the route will make commuting hassle-free for the travellers. Also, he stated that the government aims to connect the isolated areas via roads and to promote tourism. The construction of the Buner Expressway will connect the district with motorway that will pave the way for development.
