Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government plans to introduce the Rescue 1122 service in the province’s tribal districts – a news source reported.
The decision came months after parliament passed a bill pertaining to the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The authorities concerned will conduct a survey in every tribal district. Rescue 1122 director general said that the recommendations will be forwarded to the provincial government.
The federal government previously sanctioned funds worth PKR 166 million for 18 developments projects in the erstwhile FATA region. These include projects for mineral exploration, technical education, as well as construction of small dams.

Moreover, FATA Secretary Sikandar Qayyum said that labour work is underway on 114 schemes. He added that these projects are being completed at cost of PKR 3,434 million.
