Islamabad: The federal government plans to spend over PKR 100 billion annually for developing the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), a news source reported.
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday expressed his views on the matter. To facilitate this measure, a three-week consultative process is set to take place in Bajaur.

The PM said that tribal areas will witness ‘unprecedented development’ in the next 10 years. Funds worth over PKR 100 billion will be utilised annually for these development projects.
Previously, the PM had announced a grant worth PKR 2 billion dedicated for the youth of the tribal areas. Using these funds, the government will provide interest-free loans to young entrepreneurs.

He added that the tribal areas would receive a share of three-percent in line with the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award stipulations.
