LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency have started removing trees to execute a Rs 1.5 billion signal-free corridor project.
Reportedly, 196 trees along the project route will be uprooted and a signal-free road will be built from Liberty Roundabout to Fawara Chowk. LDA Chief Engineer Mr Israr Saeed told reporters that out of 196 trees, 125 had been selected for relocation to various areas in the city.
