Islamabad: COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) planted 1,500 saplings in continuation of its efforts for community engagement and environment protection, stated a news report. This was the second phase of the campaign, ‘Adopt a tree, a tree for the future’.
There have been a series of tree plantation drives in the capital and parts of Punjab, especially during the monsoon season. Different universities in Islamabad previously, also took part in the tree plantation campaigns held throughout summer. The CUI launched the first phase of its tree plantation drive in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, during which around 2,500 trees were planted.
