Lahore: Punjab Minister for Health Dr. Jawad Sajid Khan launched a tree plantation campaign by planting an Araucaria sapling in Jinnah Hospital, stated a news report. At the occasion, Khan advised that fruit and shady trees should be preferred, especially in hospitals, so that the visitors can benefit from them.
Khan added that as per the law in many countries, all farmers are required to cultivate forestry on 10% of their land. Furthermore, he said that ornamental and fancy trees do not fulfil the need of oxygen to overcome air pollution and highlighted the importance of tree plantation as a national requirement to control flood erosion and air pollution.
