Islamabad: The Ministry of Climate Change is going to launch a massive plantation campaign on 2nd September, stated a news report. This plan was discussed during a provincial meeting held at the Ministry of Climate Change, chaired by Advisor to Prime Minister Amin Aslam.
This campaign is to encourage people, communities, and organisations to help increase forest cover in all major cities of the country. As part of this campaign, all provinces will have distribution points for citizens and a massive media campaign will also be launched to create public awareness.
Speaking at the occasion, Aslam said that the Billion Tree campaign has been successful in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and so will be replicated to the rest of the country. He further said that monitoring of plants is equally important with plantation and that he would ensure all chief ministers inaugurate these campaigns and also keep a check on plantation.
