A board of directors meeting was held, and approval was given to make transgender people with valid CNICs eligible for this financial assistance. A monthly stipend of PKR 2,000 will be provided as part of the programme, coupled with a bank savings account.
Transgender people are often outcasted and forced to live in a separate community. The participation of the transgender community in the Ehsaas Kafalat programme is a significant step toward integrating them into society.
Furthermore, the board approved the establishment of 154 district-level one-window Ehsaas centres around the country. These centres will provide all services under one roof, which will benefit the consumers. The work on the centres will begin as soon as the orders are received.
Besides this, the board extended the Ehsaas education stipends to secondary and upper secondary levels, which will be implemented in the coming month. The program’s goal is to encourage girls to enroll in secondary and upper secondary school. The education stipend for females will be PKR 4,000 per quarter, while the stipend for boys would be PKR 3,500 per quarter.
