Rawalpindi: The transfer of staff and equipment to make Islamabad International Airport functional by April 20 has begun, according to a news report. Relevant departments have been instructed to transfer records and staff from Benazir International Airport to the new facility between 16th and 18th April.
The Airport Security Force has vacated 16 posts in Benazir International Airport and handed them over to officials of the Pakistan Air Force.
To ensure the timely transfer of related facilities, the departments concerned have been directed to speed up the procedure. On April 19, all operations at Benazir International Airport will be suspended and resume the next day, i.e., on April 20, at the Islamabad International Airport.
