Rawalpindi: The City Traffic Police department recently announced the details of a special traffic plan that was formulated in order to help ease traffic congestion in Murree, according to a news source. Reportedly, the plan has been finalised in coordination with Rescue 1122, the Metrology Department, the National Highways Authority, the Town Municipal Authority Murree, and District Police.

Under this plan, CTP has already appointed 200 traffic wardens in Murree. These wardens will work in three shifts round the clock. In addition, these wardens have also been supplied with special boots to walk on snow, and other related items to keep themselves warm during their duty hours.

At present, Murree receives 17,000 cars on a daily basis, and due to slippery roads and a lack of parking facilities, the resort town has been facing major road blockages. The CTP has directed the tourists to ensure that their cars are in perfect shape to travel on such roads and to also bring excess food items if they have to spend some extra time on roads. He also requested the public to follow traffic rules.

To deal with an emergency situation or an unfortunate accident, the CTP will seek assistance from the Pakistan Army and Rescue 1122.
