Addressing a meeting of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), the CTO stressed the need for an efficient and modern public transport system, installation of cameras, construction of parking plazas, and the permanent removal of encroachments from the city’s roads.
CTO Khan stated that, along with the city traffic police, the Traffic Engineering & Planning Agency (TEPA), Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Faisalabad Municipal Cooperation (FMC), and other relevant departments were also equally responsible for streamlining vehicular traffic in the city.
He called Faisalabad one of the most congested urban centres of the country. He added that in addition to an increase in population, the migration of industrial workers has also added to the congestion on the city roads.
