Mansehra: The local administration of Mansehra on Friday banned tourists from visiting the district, including the popular travelling areas of Kaghan and Naran, until August 20 in a bid to further curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic — a news source reported. This ban has been imposed under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973.

Due to the scorching summer in the southern parts of Pakistan, a large number of tourists were expected to travel to the upper Hazara division, including the Kaghan and Naran areas. However, this was seen as a coronavirus risk, and such travel was consequently banned by the district administration.
Speaking to the media on the matter, District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra called on the public to cooperate with the local police. As per the sources, currently members of the police force have been stationed around the district, including popular sites, mosques and markets.

The DSPs of the city also met with the local notable citizens in order to ensure that the SOPs designed to fight the spread of the coronavirus are strictly followed, and that other requirements of law and security are met during this period.
