As per officials, the Balochistan government recently undertook several measures in its bid to develop Gwadar’s infrastructure. Among these planned initiatives include the construction of a modern monument at Mala Fazal Chowk – expected to be established under the city’s recently unveiled master plan – and the development of additional hotels and motels for tourism promotion.
Moreover, a major chunk of the city’s development budget has been allocated for the construction and repair of roads. Previously, the provincial executive had announced its decision to construct the East-Bay Expressway to allow the smooth flow of traffic on the thoroughfares leading to the Gwadar Port as well as major highways.
