Islamabad: Gilgit Baltistan government has decided to develop three tourist cities in divisions of Gilgit, Baltistan, and Diamer, according to news sources. The Chief Minister (CM) Khalid Khursheed has already discussed the establishment of tourist cities with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

As per the details, each division will have one tourist city. For the development of these cities, official concept papers have been prepared. It was reported that the required procedures would be made for the identification of locations and the provision of facilities.
The chief minister also revealed that private investors will be invited to invest in these tourist cities – under the government’s supervision – to partake in the enormous profit potential.

According to CM Khursheed Skardu will initially be developed as a tourist destination. He stated that as per needs of the tourists, more hotels, motels and guest houses will be constructed in Skardu to meet the accommodation requirements of the travellers.
