Sialkot: The Punjab government is all set to launch its Sialkot tourist bus service project, titled ‘Vekh Sialkot’, in mid July 2019, according to a news source. The provincial government has completed this project under a private-public partnership mode.
As per reports, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will inaugurate the project. The final inauguration date hasn’t been shared as of yet.
Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider has termed the project a-first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to promote tourism in Sialkot in particular, and Punjab in general.
The bus service will organise a tour of areas and historical sites in the city such as Iqbal Markaz, Mazar Imam Ali Haq, Seerat Study Centre, Shahwala Teja Singh Temple, Holly Trinity Cathedral Church, Clock Tower, Jinnah Stadium, Food Street, Garrison Park and Head Marala.
The committee managing this bus service has set the ticket price at PKR 400 for adults, PKR 200 for students and, PKR 65 for children. The committee has proposed free trips for senior citizens and people with special needs.
