Islamabad: Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Zubair Gilani has stated that the government anticipates huge foreign investment for the tourism sector development, a news source reported. Talking to reporters, he added that the federal government planned to invite foreign investment in order to set up tourism zones in different areas.

Gilani said that the executive would utilise the inflows to establish tourism zones in northern areas of Pakistan. These include:
- Galyat
- Swat
- Gilgit-Baltistan
- Hazara region
The BOI chairman explained that the government would provide a tax holiday to the foreign investors interested in the tourism sector’s development. He added that this measure would ensure the provision of high foreign direct investment, which in turn will promote economic stability and growth in the country.

The government will also make sure that the tourism zones feature all the modern facilities for the comfort and convenience of the tourists, Gilani added.
