Quetta: Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) Director General (DG) Babar Khan on Tuesday (September 9) revealed that work had been initiated on the development of tourism and promotional projects along the province’s coastline, a news source reported. The developmental cost for the proposed projects is estimated to figure around PKR 206 million.

Khan further revealed that the Balochistan government was preparing a master plan for tourism projects planned along the coastline, which stretches from Gwadar to Gadani. Once all the relevant studies have been conducted, the provincial government will begin developing seven tourist resorts in the area, at an estimated cost of PKR 5 million. Reportedly, the authority has acquired the services of experts for this purpose.

The coastline of Gwadar is soon expected to contain recreational facilities, which will include an international standard resort, a floating restaurant, and other similar attractions. In this regard, the DG expressed his belief that the natural beauty of the beaches in the area would eventually attract tourists from across the globe.

According to Khan, talks are also underway with the Gwadar Development Authority to issue a relevant NOC in order to establish beach parks in the coastal city.
