Muhammad Rasool Khan, the district nazim, said it was regrettable that the department did not include any scenic spot of Lower Dir in the provincial government’s programme aimed at promoting tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The government, he said, had shortlisted 10 tourist destinations for development but ignored the territorial beauty of Dir.

He noted that Lower Dir had a number of breath-taking tourist destinations, including Sheen Ghar, Kamrani Top, Laram Darra, Shahi, and Binshahi; adding that the previous coalition government had approved PKR 1 billion for beautification of Timergara and Haripur city.
The provincial government had last year identified several spots in a bid to encourage tourism in the area. The Spot-a-Spot campaign is being overseen by Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan.
